RECEIVE A NEW JERSEY SPEEDING OR TRAFFIC TICKET?
Know and Protect your Rights.
If you plead guilty either on-line or in Court, besides the high fines, you may also face points on your license,
insurance points, MVC surcharges and points, or possible suspension. You may have also given away your
ability to get the ticket dismissed.
WHAT'S THE POINT WITH "POINTS"?
Once a NJ licensed driver is convicted of a moving violation, by either pleading guilty on-line or by paying at the court window or by pleading guily in court or being found guilty by a judge after a trial, the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission will penalize the driver by adding "points" to the driving record. Points are only assessed for moving violations - points are not assessed for parking and other violations.
